Since March of 2020, Young Life One National has existed to reach homeless, trafficked, foster care, and incarcerated youth.​ Here in Columbia, our focus is on incarcerated youth.

"When I first came in here (DJJ), I did not know how to love myself the way that God loves me. I now know that I am worthy, important, beautiful, kind and a child of God."

In August of 2023, Maddie (YL One Area Director) met a girl called A. A had recently turned herself in to DJJ and was waiting for trial. Maddie and A built a strong friendship where they talked about Christ and how a relationship with him can change everything. Though we cannot show faces or give away identities, read the letter A wrote about her experience with Young Life One.
